Guaguas Global: Gran Canaria's Island Bus Network Explained
All routes, fares and the official stop map in one place
Guaguas Global is Gran Canaria's only island-wide bus network, with around 120 routes linking Las Palmas to the airport, the south coast and the mountain villages. This guide lists the key routes by direction, shows you how to check fares, and links to the full timetable and stop map.
Overview: the island's only long-distance bus operator
There is only one company running bus routes across Gran Canaria: Guaguas Global, based in Las Palmas. Its blue coaches connect almost every town on the island, most routes starting from the capital. On the main routes — to the airport, Maspalomas or Playa del Inglés — buses run roughly every 30 minutes. Services to the mountains and smaller northern towns run less often.
Check the fare instead of guessing
Fares depend on the distance between fixed fare stops and are paid directly to the driver, in cash or by contactless card. Prices vary by route, so it's best to use the official Guaguas Global fare calculator — enter your start and end point to see the exact current price for your journey.
If you're travelling regularly, the rechargeable TransGC card is worth getting; it works on the Global network and, in part, on the yellow Guaguas Municipales too. As a visitor, you'll still pay the standard fare directly to the driver.

| 30 | Santa Catalina – Las Palmas – Faro Maspalomas |

Las Palmas to Maspalomas: which route suits you?
Several Global routes cover the stretch between Las Palmas and the south — but they differ a lot in journey time and character:
| Route | Character | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 50 "Superfaro" | ~7 stops, mostly hourly, fastest | Getting there quickly |
| 30 | Frequent stops, slower | Hopping off along the coast |
| 01 | Continues to Mogán, frequent stops | Onward travel, no rush |
| 05 | Night route, frequent stops | Late-night journeys |
Route 50 is officially called "Superfaro" in Global's own timetable — with only around seven stops and a mostly hourly service, it's noticeably faster than routes 30 or 01 on this stretch. Route 05 also runs frequent stops after dark and is known informally among young locals as the "party bus", as it links the island's nightlife areas through the night.
Worthwhile onward routes from Maspalomas
- Route 18 (Faro Maspalomas – San Bartolomé – Roque Nublo – Tejeda) stops right at the "Roque Nublo" stop — the car park where the hike to the summit starts. The easiest bus connection to the island's landmark, with no detour.
- Route 91 (Airport/Las Palmas – Puerto de Mogán): the direct connection to the south-west coast — see also our airport bus to the south page.
- Route 220 (Las Palmas – Teror – Artenara): runs through the mountains to the island's highest village — a good starting point for walks around Artenara and the Tamadaba pine forest.
Roque Nublo direct from Las Palmas: only possible with a change
There's no direct bus route from Las Palmas to Roque Nublo. The journey needs two changes: first take route 303 to San Mateo, then change to route 305 to La Culata — the closest stop on this route to Roque Nublo, though the walking trail from there is longer and tougher than from the "Roque Nublo" stop itself. Services on this route are infrequent. A more comfortable option: change onto route 18 in Tejeda, which takes you directly to the start of the hike.
