Without any doubt the Break Pico del Paso is one of the best spots of Gran Canaria Northcoast + of all surf report spain. After surfing one can relax in the bay, which is protected from the waves. If one brought one’s goggles along, one can dive into the colourful and diverse underwater world of Gran Canaria.
From the surf spot tourists also have a gorgeous view of the romantic fisher village El Roque which is located on a rock that extends into the surge. The spot “Pico del Paso” is accessible by a walk over small and often slippery rocks and partially sharp lava ledge. But be careful! One can easily hurt one’s ankle in the gaps between the slippery rocks.
The way the waves come crashing in one can have pretty nice rides at the surf spot. One should go there to surf during high tide. Beginners should probably start out surfing at Vagabundos beach, which is only 1 kilometre away from the surf spot, due to the difficulty one will experience when leaving the water and crawling back to land over the slippery rocks.
